Apple Cider Pound Cake
1 cup butter/margarine, softened 1/2 cup shortening 3 cups sugar 6 eggs 3 cups flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking powder 3/4 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. allspice 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1/4 tsp. cloves 1 cup apple cider 1 tsp. vanilla
Combine butter and shortening, blending well. Gradually add sugar, while continuing to blend. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Combine dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture, alternately with apple cider. Stir in vanilla. Pour into well greased 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 325 F. For 1 hour and 50 minutes, or until cake tests done. Cool in pan 10 to 15 minutes, remove from pan and cool completely.
