Classic Strawberry Cake 

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter/margarine
2 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
1 3/4 cups flour
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup crushed strawberries 

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating vigorously after each addition. Combine baking powder and flour alternately with milk. Add vanilla and strawberries. Bake in 2 loaves. Frost with powdered sugar icing, using strawberries instead of liquid. Cake will remain moist.
