Fluffy Maple Frosting 

2 egg whites
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. vanilla extract 

Combine all except vanilla in top of double boiler. Cook over boiling water, beating constantly until mixture stands in peaks.  Remove from heat. Add vanilla. Continue beating until thick enough to spread. Frost cake and garnish with chopped nuts.
