Honey Nut Cake

4 eggs
3 3/4 cups flour
1 cup sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3/4 tsp. salt
Grated rind of 1 lemon
1 cup chopped walnuts
2 cups honey
1/2 tsp. soda

Beat eggs, sugar, oil and lemon rind. Heat honey almost to boiling and beat in soda. Add to first mixture. Add sifted dry ingredients. Beat until blended. Add nuts. Pour into 13x9 pan lined with waxed paper. Bake at 350 F. About 1 hour. Turn out on rack, peel off paper, and let stand until cold. Store airtight for several days before serving. Serve plain, sprinkle with powdered sugar or frost with thin confectioners sugar frosting flavored with grated lemon rind.
