Nut Cake
1 cup soft butter/margarine 2 tbsp. baking powder 1 3/4 cup sugar 3/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla 3/4 cup milk 3 eggs and one egg yolk 1 cup finely chopped nuts 3 cups cake flour
Cream butter; gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Add vanilla. Add eggs and yolk, one at a time, beating thoroughly after each addition. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk, beating until smooth. Fold in nuts. Pour into 9 inch tube pan, lined on the bottom with paper. Bake at 375 F. For 1 hour or until done. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove to rack. Dust with powdered sugar, or serve plain.
