Oatmeal Cake 

1 1/4 cup boiling water
1 1/2 cup flour
1 cup oats
1 tsp. soda
1/2 cup butter
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup white sugar
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs 

Pour boiling water over oats, cover and let stand 20 minutes. Beat butter until creamy. Add sugars, beating until fluffy. Blend in vanilla and eggs. Stir in oats. Sift together dry ingredients, add to creamed mixture and stir well. Pour into well greased, floured pan. Bake at 350 F. For 30 minutes.
