Oreo Dirt Cake 

1 large pkg. oreo cookies
3 cups milk
8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 cup butter or margarine
2 small pkgs. instant vanilla pudding
1 cup powdered sugar
1 large container whipped topping
1 tsp. vanilla 

Crush cookies into fine crumbs. Put half the crushed cookies into 9x13 pan. Mix cream cheese and butter until smooth. Beat in sugar. Fold in whipped topping. In separate bowl, mix pudding, milk and vanilla. Fold cream cheese mixture into pudding mixture. Pour over cookie layer and sprinkle with remaining cookie crumbs. Chill to set.

For a special effect: layer in a clean flower pot, or small cups and decorate with silk flowers, and for children add a jelly worm. Remember that the "dirt" or cookie layer is the top layer.
