Praline Cake
1/4 cup shortening 3/4 cup sugar 1 1/2 cups sifted cake flour 1 egg 1 1/2 tsp.baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 2/3 cup milk 1 tsp vanilla Praline glaze
Cream shortening and sugar, add egg, beating well. Combine dry ingredients, add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Stir in vanilla. Pour into heavily greased 8 inch round or square pan. Bake at 350 F. 25 to 30 Minutes. Cool slightly spread praline glaze over cake and bake at 350 f. For 5 minutes. Glaze with Praline Glaze (below).
Praline Glaze
1 tbsp and 1 tsp. flour 1/4 cup butter, melted 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 2 tbsp. water 3/4 cup chopped pecans
Combine flour, sugar, butter and water, mixing well. Add chopped pecans.
